What is happening
between you?

You might be finding your feet together, feeling distant, or considering a change in the relationship.

Connection and individuality

Finding closeness while making room for friendships, independence and different ways of being together.

The everyday load

How care, work, money and responsibilities are shared, and what feels difficult to say.

Your future together

Conversations about commitment, parenting, family expectations or whether your hopes still line up.

Your relationship, in context

Room for
both stories.

You may share an identity and still have different experiences of family, culture or belonging. There is room for both stories, including the parts that do not match.

Counselling can focus on the relationship concern you bring. You do not have to make your sexuality the subject of every conversation.

Two women spending time together.

Start with
a conversation.

Each partner is invited to an individual session before couple work can begin. These sessions are separate from the free 15-minute consultation. The conversations help Wayne understand each person’s perspective and discuss whether joint sessions are appropriate.

Do we both need to identify as lesbian?

No. Bi, queer and trans women are welcome. Use the words that fit each of you, or leave labels aside. The existing LGBTQI+ page also covers individual and relationship support more broadly.

Can we talk about parenting or family expectations?

Yes. These can be part of understanding your relationship and the decisions you face. Let Wayne know who you hope would attend so the appropriate arrangements can be discussed.

What if one of us is unsure about staying together?

You can bring different hopes to a first conversation. Counselling can provide a structure for discussing those differences; you do not need to agree on an outcome before enquiring.
